When the preliminary agenda went out with the opening of registration, we had a few slots that we were waiting for speaker confirmations. Well, as they say “anything worth having is worth waiting for.” Our opening Keynote Speaker on Wednesday morning is Captain Paul X. Rinn, Retired US Navy. Captain Rinn is an accomplished Naval Leader and now a successful business leader. His career in the Navy spanned almost three decades and encompassed challenging positions in a multitude of key operational assignments. He is the recipient of the US Congress’s 1989 National Day of Excellence Award, the 1989 Stephen Decatur Award for Operational Excellence, and the 1995 US Navy League John Paul Jones Award for Inspirational Leadership. He has also served as Executive Assistant to the Head of the Surface Navy and Special Assistant to two Chiefs of Naval Operations. In 2008, Captain Rinn was inducted into the Surface Navy Hall of Fame. His command of and leadership of one of the Navy’s most sophisticated ships, the Guided Missile Frigate Samuel B. Roberts FFG58 is a story of heroic leadership. It is also now required reading at the US Navy Academy. This will be a speaker you don’t want to miss the opportunity to experience.

Then Ray Carey, CEO-NeoNova, will give us a look into the crystal-cloud with his presentation “Change and Innovation in the Cloud Economy.”

Carmen O’Neill, Senior Engineer-Vantage Point Solutions will address “Cyber Security – Today and Tomorrow.” As the reports on cyber security breaches increase, getting more information on how to protect the information in your systems as well as protecting your own information.

After lunch, we’ve assembled a group you’ll want to return to hear as they focus on the challenges facing cooperative boards and company management today including the aging demographics, a competitive market for experienced key personnel, reduction in permissible qualified plan benefits and innovative solutions for these challenges. Our speaker team will address “Rewarding, Retaining and Recruiting Key Talent along with How to Put Together a Succession Plan for the Future of the Leadership on your Cooperative/Company.” Dirk Coleman, Curtis Blakely & Co., PC, Wade Wilson, Bolinger, Segars, Gilbert & Moss, LLP, will join Peter Viliesis and Jeff Mund, The Mund Group, Ltd, to help you outline your plan to successful future.

We are excited to bring back Executive Consultant and Chief Economist, Edmond Seifried to kick off our Thursday program. He is a nationally recognized speaker on economic issues and forecasting. He will provide a unique and understandable approach to getting through the maze of economic indicators and financial predictions about our industry. He will sprinkle in some stock market projections with suggestions on where the best place to put your money is in today’s and tomorrow’s economy.
