Jon Brown | Senior Technology Leader

Jon Brown has been in the telecommunications industry for over 18 years. His expertise is in the areas of network design, engineering, configuration, monitoring and troubleshooting. His experience and skillset include data network security analysis, Linux Administration, Firewall management, Cable Modem Termination System (CMTS), as well as VoIP and IPTV.

Jon is a frequent speaker and trainer in the areas of IPv6 deployment, Wireshark packet analysis, IP PBX, Network Security, Router Architecture, and Routing Protocols.

Jon majored in Computer Science at South Dakota State University (SDSU) in Brookings, SD. He has achieved a number of industry certifications and currently has the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification in Routing and Switching. Currently he is the President of the Association of Internet Technology Professionals and sits as Chairman of the Advisory Board for the Mitchell Technical Institute Information Systems program.

Dr. Edmond Seifried

Edmond SeifriedDr. Edmond Seifried is currently Executive Consultant and Chief Economist of the Sheshunoff Affiliation Programs and Professor Emeritus of Economics and Business at Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania.

Ed also serves as the dean of the Virginia and West Virginia Banking Schools and has served on the faculty of numerous banking schools including the Graduate School of Retail Bank Management.

Ed frequently appears as a guest speaker at regional and national conferences and has delivered over 2000 presentations to various groups both in the United States and abroad. He is a consultant to the banking industry and is well known as a speaker at bank customer events and as a strategic planner. He is the author of the book “The Art of Strategic Planning for Community Banks.” In addition to his academic and consulting experience, he has also served as a director of a community bank.

Ed has traveled extensively in the former Soviet Bloc countries where he served as an advisor and consultant to the newly privatized commercial banks.

Ed received his doctorate in economics and business from West Virginia University. 


Dr. Steven Hausman                  

Steve is an expert in conveying the excitement of technology, science, innovation and the future in a clear, understandable and entertaining manner.  Steve has a talent for describing complex concepts in science and technology (and their social and ethical implications) in an entertaining and easy-going manner using humor, personal experiences and clear and understandable language while drawing from his large repertoire of videos, images, and news articles.


George Reeves

George Reeves is a Cyber Security Advisor for the South Texas district with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Cybersecurity & Communications. His program works to foster collaboration and coordination on cyber preparedness, risk mitigation and incident response, and to provide cyber security resources, including training, exercises, and assessments, in support of the nation's Critical Infrastructure Key Resource sectors and with state and local government.

 

David Villyard

David has been with the National Cybersecurity and Communication Integration Center (NCCIC)working at the National Communications Coordinating Branch (NCC) since March of 2010. David is currently the Deputy Director and Operations Chief responsible for the day-to-day administration and planning for the branch and the daily and strategic operations of the NCC COMM-ISAC Watch, which includes preparation and support to all hazards restoration support to the COMM-ISAC under authorities in the National Response Framework (NRF) ESF#2 affecting the communications industry and communications centric Critical Infrastructure and Key Resources (CIKR). The NCC is the executive agent for DHS National Protection and Programs Directorate (NPPD) the Sector Specific Agency (SSA) for ESF#2.  David also functions as the Senior Telecommunication Analyst for all outage cascading impacts, restoration trending, and situational awareness reporting. 

Previous to DHS, David worked in the telecommunications industry for 12 years where he was a regional manager managing the engineering, installation and operations of network equipment for Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. His team managed and completed multiple concurrent equipment installations in Central Offices in all commodities from Packet/Voice Switches, IP/VOIP Switches, SONET, and cellular infrastructure.

David retired from the Army as a Communication Electronic Technical Warrant Officer after 20 years of service in 1997.  He has been married to his wife Ae Cha for 39 years and has 2 grown children, a 17 y/o at home and one grandson.  David has over 40 yrs experience working in the telecommunications field in, military, private and federal sectors.
