Get your floral shirt on and come ready to join us for TSTCI’s Spring Managers’ Conference at the Pearl on South Padre Island, June 11-13, 2014. This conference has and continues to be a “family-friendly” event. We’ll pack your day with educational opportunities in an environment that allows you and yours some family time as well. South Padre Island – the Texas version of a Hawaiian island where work and play unite.

Kicking-off (or “teeing off!”) the conference is the Wesley B. Roberts Memorial Golf Tournament on Wednesday, June 11 at the South Padre Island Golf Club. A picturesque golf course by the water that may enhance/inhibit the golf game. Golf fee includes the cart rental, green fees, driving range balls, full breakfast, beverages, lunch, door prizes and a day with old and new friends! Good game, good food, good time-Good golly! Registration for golf and opportunities to assist with golf sponsorships are available on the online registration page.

Wednesday evening we officially kick-off the conference with the roll out of our Welcome Beach Party Reception. Come channel your inner Annette Funicello or Frankie Avalon and enjoy the casual atmosphere, fantastic food and fellowship at the beach-party as we watch the sunset over South Padre. (Yes, there will be alternative plans in place for a weather bummer.)

Thursday morning, TSTCI President, Steven Steele, and TSTCI CEO, Weldon Gray, open up the meeting. You definitely will not want to miss our keynote address, "Humor - Laughter is Lawful" presented by J.B. Smith who includes in his credits, Sheriff, Humorist, Comedian and Auctioneer. Following our keynote, Frank Gallagher, Charlesmead Advisors, tells us “What’s Happening?” Frank, in his professional yet personable way is going to guide us through industry events, actions, things that have happened and things that are on their way and how to prepare. And then before lunch, we are going to whet your appetite or at least give you conversation for lunchtime, with a legislative update from Weldon and a discussion about the importance of and participation in the TSTCI PAC. We will break for lunch which we hope many of you will register for the PAC luncheon or you are welcome to lunch on your own.

Of course, come back after lunch for the afternoon sessions. Not that you need enticing – but before jumping into the afternoon session, we will be doing a “don’t want to miss door prize drawing.”

Then we will turn the stage over to Dave Butler, NeoNova Network Services, who will take us to the “Cloud” – literally. In this digital, technological age, Cloud computing and Cloud Services are not of the Future they are of the Now. Dave will Cloud-walk us through function, dependability, security and how it might help bring additional profits to your company and your communities. We will end the business portion of the day after our walk through the cloud, with Trolls – or the “Litigation and Legislation of the Patent Troll” issue presented by Jill Canfield, NTCA Assistant General Counsel.

Before breaking for the Texas Lone Star Network hosted Ice Cream Social, we will do the Grand Prize Drawing sponsored by Texas Communications Expo (must be present to win) followed by the PAC Raffle prize drawing (at press time, we are accepting sponsors for the PAC Raffle)

Friday morning, Members and Associate Members are invited to enjoy a continental breakfast prior to the Member Meeting. The Member Meeting is open to all ILEC Full Members and their designated representatives. We will have a sign-in sheet for those attending.

We will be at the Pearl South Padre, 310 Padre Blvd., South Padre Island, Texas.  The hotel has sold out of the TSTCI block and we have arranged with another hotel property to handle the overflow and the same rate:

Early Registration!
General or Early Registration runs from now through May 19th at the normal registration fee. After May 19th, the “late registration fee” will apply. Now it really does pay to register early.
