 From the
Panhandle to the Gulf, the
cooperative and
small independent telephone companies that make up the Texas Statewide
Telephone Cooperative, Inc. (TSTCI) are changing the rural landscape.
By
installing digital switches and fiber-optic lines, and offering
services
such as Internet access and interactive distance learning, TSTCI
members
make access to advanced telecommunications
available
to almost 50 percent of the geographic, primarily rural, area of the
state.
TSTCI is committed to ensuring that rural Texas continues to have access to the latest in telecommunications technologies and services. These technologies will allow areas of rural Texas served by TSTCI companies to preserve a unique way of life while improving each rural community's ability to meet new challenges in economic development, education and healthcare. The future growth and stability of rural Texas is directly tied to the quality of its telecommunications capability. |
