2015 Spring Managers' Conference

Dear TSTCI Members and Associate Members

After the winter we’ve had, it is not too early to get you in the mood for some sun, fun and friends. As we begin the countdown to our gathering for TSTCI’s Spring Managers’ Conference at the Pearl on South Padre Island, June 10-12, 2015. During this always “family-friendly” event, we will fill your days with educational opportunities in an environment that allows you and yours some family time as well. We will work hard and play hard during this event.

A preliminary Agenda outline for all the good times to come during the conference can be found here. On Wednesday morning, June 10, we battle the ball in our opening event, the Wesley B. Roberts Memorial Golf Tournament at the South Padre Island Golf Club. This picturesque golf course by the water makes the day’s event feel like a visit to a paradise island. Golf fee includes the cart rental, green fees, driving range balls, full breakfast, beverages, lunch, door prizes and a day with old and new friends! After returning from golf, the Texas Lone Star Network (TLSN) will hold its Annual Membership Meeting beginning at 3:45 p.m.

The Welcome Reception Wednesday evening will officially kick-off the conference beginning at 5:30 p.m. Enjoy the casual atmosphere, fantastic food and fellowship as we watch the sunset over South Padre.

Thursday morning, after you enjoy our breakfast buffet, TSTCI President, Steven Steele, and TSTCI CEO, Weldon Gray, will initiate the business of the day and introduce our Opening General Session Keynote speaker, Rob Bell. Rob will WOW us into being A Ring Master in our businesses. Continuing the WOW-factor, following the keynote, a favorite of TSTCI on employment law, Sheila Gladstone, will guide us through the ever-changing, ever-tricky maze of updated employment laws. Then before we break for the PAC Luncheon (Guest Legislator invited and separate ticket required), Weldon, Louise Bacarisse, TSTCI Lobbyist and guest legislator will give you the highlights of bills that passed and how some of them will impact you. The Legislative Session will have just ended June 1st. We hope we will have good news to share on our legislative program and we will touch on other high points. We hope many of you will register for the PAC luncheon or you are welcome to lunch on your own.

After lunch but before we get to the afternoon speakers, we will be doing a “You don’t want to miss door prize drawing.”

Once the winner recovers, Ryan Tupper, Innovative Systems, will take us “Over The Top – It’s Happening to You – Don’t Ya know.” For the finale of the business portion of the day, a representative from NTCA will outline what the FCC’s Net Neutrality really means and how it will/may impact you.

Before breaking for the Texas Lone Star Network hosted Ice Cream Social, we will do the Grand Prize Drawing sponsored by Texas Communications Expo (must be present to win) followed by the PAC Raffle prize drawing (at press time, we are accepting sponsors for the PAC Raffle)

Friday morning, Members and Associate Members are invited to enjoy a continental breakfast prior to the ILEC Member Meeting. The Member Meeting is open to all ILEC Full Members and/or their designated representatives. We will have a sign-in sheet for those attending.

Hotel Information: We will be at the Pearl South Padre. For your convenience, we have a reservation link to the hotel on the website. Room rates are $175.00 for single/double and $335.00 - $400.00 for condo rentals. Be sure to make your reservations by the cut-off date Friday, May 8.
