General Summary:

Manages all accounting and financial operations. Specific responsibilities include: monitoring receipts and disbursements, accounting and financial record keeping and reporting, payroll operations, short-term investments and management of cash flow. May negotiate terms of purchase and arranges for any necessary financing of major equipment and supplies. May research, recommend and administer long-term investments. 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Manages all accounting and financial activities by assigning work, checking quality of work, answering questions, handling personnel issues and monitoring work flow to ensure timely completion of accounting and finance activities. 
  • Monitors company cash flow situation by updating cash flow projections, reviewing accounts payable, analyzing long-term debt and reviewing accounts receivable reports and weekly cash requirements.
  • Manages company-wide payroll operations and completes related filings.
  • Ensures accurate record keeping and reporting by developing record keeping guidelines and preparing, analyzing and reviewing various financial reports.

GM/CEO OPENING

The service area of the cooperative is located in the western part of the state and includes CLEC operation in three local markets. The company serves an approximately 4,500 square mile rural area and has about 40 employees. The cooperative is an FCC ACAM company, but already has exceeded its buildout obligation. Outside Plant Technician (Ingram TX) 

Perform skilled technical duties relating to the installation and maintenance of telecommunications outside plant facilities and services. Install, maintain and service customer premise equipment (CPE). Perform maintenance and provisioning activities regarding access network electronics, rectifiers, batteries, and OSP electronics cabinets. 

ON-CALL ROTATION (providing afterhours and weekend support as needed and other support activities as required) 

Experience / Requirements / Education: 

High school diploma or equivalent plus five years of experience in Telephony or Networking Installation and Repair. 

A+ and Net+ certification highly attractive. Basic knowledge of electricity, fiber optic theory, telephone, xDSL and Network installation and maintenance required. Knowledge of industry related test equipment and locating equipment required. Ability to install and troubleshoot CPE devices related to telephone, broadband and internal networks. Ability to operate a computer and use various software programs. Must be a team player, personable, professional, using tact and diplomacy. Must possess excellent verbal and written skills with ability to represent Cooperative to its membership. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to multi-task. Must have a valid Class A Texas Commercial Driver’s License (or ability to acquire within six months from date of hire). Pole Climbing Certification required (or ability to attain within six months from date of hire).
