IP Network Engineer

Member Relations Manager  




The primary responsibilities of the IP Network Engineer are to support the Sr. Network Engineers and the Network Operations Department with design, implementation, testing and maintenance of the Company’s data network. The IP Network Engineer also provides all necessary technical assistance to operations groups 24x7, as needed. 

Must be able to respond to emergency calls as needed, including nights and weekends. May require on-call rotation and/or reporting to job on short notice to facilitate repair of the network until service is restored. 

Essential Job Functions: 

Monitor system resource utilization, trending and capacity planning. Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations. Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability. Support second and third tier escalations for all operational outages in IP network and troubleshooting to resolve issues. Learn, operate and maintain IP network delivering IP network data and voice to deployed customer access network utilizing wireless, XDSL and FTTX technologies. Troubleshoot IP network problems quickly and help provide sound engineering solutions. Conduct high-quality and comprehensive lab tests to prove viability of proposed engineering solutions. Maintain network by troubleshooting and repairing outages; testing network back-up procedures; and updating documentation. 

Experience / Requirements / Education: 

Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Systems degree plus two to four years of relevant technical experience in configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance of IP network equipment. Cisco qualifications at a minimum of CCNA required. Routing and switching experience a must. Proven hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostics and network analytics tools also a must.

Member Relations Manager — NTCA

NTCA-The Rural Broadband Association is looking for a candidate to join its member relations team.  We are looking for an experienced individual to promote NTCA membership and participation in the Association’s benefit programs through on-site visits and presentations to both employee groups and board members.  Ideal candidate will have experience building relationships at all levels in the organization, communicating with decision makers and other stakeholders and a background in human resources or employee benefits.  Ability to think strategically about benefit plan design and serve in a consulting role to assist members in planning and designing benefits to meet their evolving organizational needs is a must.

Position requires ability to work independently with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Power Point.  Advanced presentation and communication skills are required.  Basic knowledge of the telecommunications industry is helpful. Undergraduate degree and 4-7 years of related work experience needed. 70% travel required with ability to work from home and service the territory including Arizona, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, and Texas.
